We reside in the picturesque rural community of York, PEI with our two teenage daughters Jennifer & Christen.

In 1993, Walter participated in his first Hunt Test and was immediately captivated by the challenging sport and it’s friendly, supportive atmosphere.  After several years of watching from the sidelines, telling Walter how it should be done, Barb also took the plunge and purchased a dog of her own to train and run in Hunt Tests and Field Trials.

The rest, as they say, is history.  We now operate Yorkton Kennels where we lovingly breed and train Labrador Retrievers.  Between us, we have earned in excess of 40 CKC field and obedience titles including the coveted FTCH, QFTR, GMH and multiple MH & WCX titles.  In 2004, one of our dogs, GMH Yorkton's Lucky Lady QFTR WCX CD, was honoured by being the only "non-show" dog in the country to be named a "Purina Champion".

We also enjoy judging dogs in the field and take pleasure watching well trained dogs eagerly do the jobs for which they were originally bred.  We have been honoured to judge many retriever events across the country, including the 2005 Canadian National Duck Tolling Retriever Club WC -WCX tests.  In 2006, Walter was one of the judges for the prestigious Canadian Master National Retriever Hunt Test.
